2024 has been another incredible year for Horse and Buddy, and it’s all thanks to amazing friends like you! This year, we celebrate 23 years of serving our community, and on February 14, 2025, we’ll mark 15 wonderful years in our very own facility—a milestone made possible by your generous support.

 

In 2024, we focused on essential maintenance items to ensure our environment remains safe and welcoming:

• Replacing aging gutters to prevent water damage, protect our foundation, and eliminate waterfalls that spook our horses.

• Repairing our arena fan to keep our horses and participants comfortable in the heat.

• Adding new sand and rubber to our arena for the safety of our horses and participants.

• Repairing the bridge on our sensory trail, a key and enjoyable part of that trail.

• Upgrading the electrical system in our arena to install LED lights that are safer, easier to replace, and more energy efficient. 

• Building “The Pines,” the dedicated area that serves participants in our equine assisted psychotherapy and equine partnered play therapy programs.

These projects are crucial to maintaining the environment where healing and growth happen daily. While they may not be the most glamorous aspects of our work, they are essential to ensuring Horse and Buddy can continue to serve our community for years to come.

 

As we look back on this remarkable year, we’re thrilled to invite you to participate in our annual Buddy Derby! This fun and meaningful event is your chance to support Horse and Buddy in honor of someone special—a rider, volunteer, staff member, favorite horse, or anyone close to your heart. Our goal this year is $75,000, and we're all geared up for a spirited fundraising race to see whose pony can raise the most funds for our program.
